Community Solar Slots Still Available
Using solar power to produce electricity has become a popular option for consumers in Massachusetts, across the country and throughout the world. Solar power is a renewable source of clean energy that doesn’t produce greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change by trapping heat; and it lowers the cost of your electric bill.
Many Sharon homes now have solar panels on their roofs. However, some homes are not suitable for panel installation, or the resident may be renting the space. In these circumstances, a welcome approach is Community Solar: energy is produced at an off-site solar farm rather than panels on your house, and consumers purchase credits for that energy at a discounted rate. This transaction offsets about 10% of their existing electric bill. Community solar is a maintenance-free managed solution enabling people to shift their electricity source to a much greener alternative - sunlight! Not only is the power source much greener, but you will save roughly 10% by joining this solar farm.
Slots in local solar farms are still available through Sustainable Sharon Coalition’s (SSC) community solar partner, Relay Power. When you enroll in one of these Relay Power community solar slots, you’ll receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card, and the company will donate $50 to SSC. Learn more and sign up here.
