  • Cheryl Schnitzer, President

    Cheryl is a Chemistry Professor at Stonehill College and serves as Chair of their Environmental Stewardship Council. Plus, she is the Founder & CEO of Reuzzi, tracking takeout food containers to ensure reuse (www.reuzzi.com). Since 2017, Cheryl has served as President of the Sustainable Sharon Coalition—thoroughly enjoying her work with other inspiring volunteers.

  • Ellen Bordman, Vice President

    Ellen holds a MAT Elementary Education degree from Regis College and a BA in Performing Arts from Emerson College. She is a public elementary school ESL teacher. Ellen is an active member of the congregation at Unitarian Church of Sharon, and has been a volunteer with SSC since 2016. She is a mother of two teens. An avid reader and writer, Ellen has been keeping a journal since 4th grade. She is a lazy gardener but intends to try harder. She enjoys cooking and baking, especially gluten-free treats. Ellen is a cat person.

  • Marlene Arnold, Secretary

    Marlene holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Union College. She spent 20+ years in hi-tech support and marketing management and also owned her own professional organizing business. Marlene served several years on Temple Sinai of Sharon’s Board of Trustees and later as their executive director (2011-2018). She is still an active member working on initiatives to help “green” the temple. Marlene joined SSC in 2019 and is inspired to work with such a talented group of environmentally conscious individuals.

  • Dave Slater, Treasurer

    Dave has 20+ years experience managing nonprofit organizations. Dave’s environmental interests include composting, and furthering the availability of sustainable electric power.

  • Debbie Choudhury

    Debbie joined SSC in 2021, and she is interested in making a difference in the community. She is a big believer in recycling, composting, and growing her own food whenever possible. Debbie has been helping SSC with the social media side since 2022. She has been working at Northeastern University as a database administrator since 2008.

  • Molli Denrich

    After 15 years away (earning her BA and MS and starting a family) Molli returned to her hometown of Sharon ready to make a difference locally. She subscribed to the SSC e-newsletter in 2018, and in 2019 took over organizing and editing it. Although her former zero-waste household was difficult to maintain with 3 children and a dog, Molli is still an active believer in recycling, reducing, and reusing whenever possible. Proud composter and ardent environmentalist, she has been seen rifling through trash cans at parties and events, separating out the recycling. Molli also enjoys making art from recycled materials in her spare time.

  • Katherine Lee Goyette

    Katherine joined SSC in 2022, and has worked with SSC's energy interest group since then. She is an environmental and energy staff attorney at the Conservation Law Foundation, having previously served as a hearing officer with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Katherine has an LL.M. from the University of Kansas and a J.D. from Washburn University School of Law (KS), and is an active member of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. She has lived in Sharon since 2020 and also serves as a board member on the Town of Sharon's Council on Aging. Katherine is specifically interested in solutions ensuring an equitable and clean energy transition, as Massachusetts approaches its mandatory climate goals.

  • Paul Lauenstein

    Paul is a retired print shop owner, and has lived in Sharon since 1986. He is a founding member of the Sustainable Sharon Coalition. As a former member of the Sharon Water Management Advisory Committee, he helped promote Sharon’s award-winning water conservation program. He started the Sharon Solar Network, a group of families with solar panels who share solar production data. As a Board member of Sharon Friends of Conservation, he helped create a database of wildlife sightings in Sharon at www.sharonfoc.org.

  • Guoqiang Li


    Guoqiang has over 16 years of experience in transportation planning at both municipal and regional levels. He has helped people from elected, appointed officials to the general public by providing intersection and corridor planning studies; conducting transportation reviews for Traffic Impact Study and engineering design plans; providing technical assistance to communities; and providing design ideas that promote mulitmodal transportation safety and efficiency. Guoqiang is highly skilled in travel demand modeling analysis for complex and large traffic networks. He has been a certified Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) since 2009 and a member of the American Planning Association (APA). Guoqiang with his wife and two young sons have been proud to call Sharon home since 2017.

  • Mike Littman

    Mike joined SSC in 2020 as the Transportation Committee Chair. He moved to Sharon in October 2019 with his wife, Victoria, and daughter, Noa, and has loved joining the vibrant, warm community that is Sharon. As a transportation engineer, Mike spends a lot of time thinking about mobility, safety, and of course, sustainability. In June 2021, he joined the Federal Department of Transportation with a job at the Volpe Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to bringing technical expertise to this position, Mike hopes to bring creative, innovative ideas that improve safety and mobility for the most vulnerable users in the community.

  • Colleen Mirabello

    Colleen has a background in tech, with a degree in Computer Science and a long career as a web developer and CTO of a small Boston-based online software company. After leaving that job to look for something more meaningful, she took the Climate Change: Learning for Action course with Terra.do and gained a great deal of knowledge about climate change and its potential solutions. Midway through that course, she became a member of the SSC and joined the board a few months later. With an interest in energy and electrification, she is participating in the Energy SIG and hopes to discover more ways to contribute to the SSC's mission. Colleen is married to a video game developer and they have a school-aged daughter. In her spare time she loves to crochet.

  • Kathi Mirza

    Passionate about waste reduction, Kathi is always open to an honest conversation about reduce, reuse, repair, recycling, composting, consumption behavior and trash. She loves reuse (40+ years), composting (25+ years), deep dives into shared responsibility as well as resource conservation. She holds a B.S. degree from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University. For 20+ years Kathi served as a Regional Coordinator for MassDEP’s Bureau of Waste Prevention, and she has been honored to volunteer in many communities she’s lived in, from San Francisco to Boston.

  • Simone Tamkin

    Simone is an engineer (electrical – BS) from Brazil. She is a Digital Analytics Implementation expert and data analyst. She has worked at Google, IBM, CVS Health, and now Amica Insurance. In 2016, Simone started the “save a bag” pilot program at CVS Health stores to reduce the single use of plastic bags, and in 2017, helped with SSC’s “reduce my waste” campaign. As SSC communications chair, Simone led the creation of a new SSC website, created SSC’s Instagram account, and increased SSC’s Facebook presence to over 300 followers. Simone was elected vice president in 2018 and more recently, led the SSC Energy HS Internship program to help get young people involved in protecting our planet.

  • Debbie Tatro

    Debbie holds BS and PhD degrees in Physiology from Michigan State University and The University of Michigan, respectively. She had a 25+ year career as a principal investigator on research awards from the National Institutes of Health, conducting basic bench research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease. Debbie joined SSC in 2018, became a Board member in 2019, and the Co-Chair of the Zero Waste committee in 2020. She has led campaigns to pass Sharon’s plastic bag bylaw and to oppose artificial turf installation. Her interests include outdoor activities and a journey to plastic- and waste-free living.
