Pumpkin Toss at Memorial Beach Park

Don’t Trash It — Smash It. Community members are invited to come pitch their jack-o-lanterns into a Black Earth compost truck.

Pumpkins are 90% water, which is great for composting, but especially bad for landfills.

Come have fun tossing those pumpkins into Black Earth’s compost truck and keep them out of the waste stream. Not composting pumpkins also increases tonnage, driving costs up.

This new community event is thanks to the Town of Sharon Department of Public Works, Recreation Department and the Sustainable Sharon Coalition.
