Lynn Wolbarst Award 2021 - Sustainable Sharon Coalition

On Saturday, May 22, Sustainable Sharon Coalition held the Lynn Wolbarst Sustainability Award Ceremony and SSC Youth Tree Planting at Deborah Sampson Park in Sharon. It was a beautiful, sunny morning as community members gathered to recognize the environmental work award recipient Dr. Ricky Stern has done over the years, including founding SSC and “e” inc., a non-profit organization delivering environment science programs for children and youth in Boston.State Senators Walter Timilty and Paul Feeney presented Dr. Stern with a special citation to honor her accomplishments. Select Board member Hanna Switlekowski and State Representative Ted Philips spoke about her activism, as Sharon Police and Firefighters honored her with their presence. SSC Youth Committee Chair, Aneeza Ahmad, shared her appreciation of Dr. Stern’s mentoring. Thank you, Ricky, for helping to create SSC, which has brought so many people together for positive change concerning sustainability issues.
