Let’s get to work on climate change!

The recent IPCC report and the U.S. government report on climate change are clarion calls for action to avert the worst consequences of global warming. Here are three things you can do to greatly reduce your own carbon footprint:

1. Get clean, renewable electricity from the sun. Install solar panels on your roof and/or join a community solar project. Both of these approaches will lower your monthly electric bills. For more info, see: www.SharonSaves.org.

2. Get an electric car. Take advantage of the $7,500 federal tax credit and the $2,500 MA cash rebate. For more info, see: https://www.greenenergyconsumers.org/drivegreen.
3. Get an electric mini-split heat pump to heat and cool your home. For more info, see: https://www.masssave.com/en/saving/residential-rebates/electric-heating-and-cooling/.
Also, if your place of worship is not equipped with solar panels, contact Resonant Energy at ‭(617) 506-9574‬.
In addition to taking action at your own home and place of worship, contact the Sharon Selectmen and your state representative and senator  Ask them to take actions such as installing solar canopies on parking lots and passing legislation to speed up the transition to a clean energy economy. Our town and our state should be second to none in this effort!
The time to act is now. We owe it to our children and grandchildren.
