Recycle

When buying products or packaging, select items that can be easily recycled after their useful life.

Keep recyclables clean, dry, and place them loose in your recycling cart.

The graphic above highlights the core recyclables to put in your recycling cart, and also reminds us what NOT to put in the cart. To check specific items as to whether they can be recycled curbside use the RecycleSmart app.  For a video explanation of correct recycling practices that apply to all communities in Massachusetts see: Recycle Right. When in doubt, leave it out.

Plastic bags must be kept out of curbside recycling carts: They get tangled in machinery at recycling facility and add cost to the process.
